We're looking for a Deputy Branch Manager to help ensure that the branch in Romania is compliant with local regulations and offers the best services to our customers. You will help shape how we continue to expand and operate across the globe. You’ll work on high-impact initiatives throughout the business, using insight to solve challenges, scale processes, and deliver better outcomes for our customers.

What you'll be doing

Supporting the General Manager in managing the team and branch operations, contributing to the achievement of established performance objectives
Coordinating the daily activities of the branch, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable legal regulations
Leading the subordinate team, providing professional and managerial support to achieve individual and team tasks and objectives
Ensuring adherence to compliance standards, risk management, and internal control within branch operations
Representing the branch in relations with clients, suppliers, and local authorities, in line with internal policies and procedures in coordination with the General Manager
Contributing to the implementation of the bank’s strategy at local level, in accordance with the directions set by senior management
Executing scale operations and working with cross-functional teams across the Bank
Managing the payment operations and supervising the branch compliance with local payment systems ReGIS, SENT, and SWIFT systems
Ensuring communication with the National Bank, Transfond, SWIFT, and other regulatory bodies in coordination with the General Manager

What you'll need

At least a 2:1 degree in Finance, Economics or Business degree from a top university
from a top university
9+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally banking/financial services or management consulting in the Romania
5+ years of practical experience in areas related to banking or financial services at managerial positions
Extensive practical knowledge of strategic planning, accounting/auditing principles, and complex regulatory frameworks, managing risk, compliance, and outsourcing operations
Proven capability to interpret financial data, identify critical issues, and evaluate the effectiveness of the risk management and control systems
A solid track record of taking ownership and leading complex projects end to end
The skill to break complex problems into smaller, achievable tasks
A natural curiosity and willingness to make an impact
Familiarity with Romanian and EU laws and other legal acts regulating the activities of the Bank, including local regulatory guidelines and positions
Fluency in English and Romanian

A solid understanding of the business case behind retail banking as well as of the financial competitive landscape in the market
A track record of building and growing a business, and delivering high impact projects successfully
