5 ways to send money on Revolut, locally and internationally
Moving money shouldn't feel like a chore. Choose between the following methods so you can enjoy convenience and flexibility.
1. Phone numbers
Instantly pay any of your contacts who are also on Revolut. If they're in your phone book, they’ll show up automatically in-app, once you give permission to share contacts.
2. Revtags
Your Revtag is your unique Revolut username. These allow Revolut customers to send and receive money to and from each other without sharing information like your phone number or bank details.
- To find yours: tap your profile icon (top-left corner), then tap the tag beneath your name
- To change it: you can edit your Revtag in your profile settings
For quick transfers with other Revolut customers, just share your Revtags or scan the QR code in-app within the profile.
3. Bank transfers
Send money to any account worldwide with ease. For domestic transfers within the UK, all you need is the recipient’s name, account number, and sort code. If you’re sending money elsewhere in Europe, you’ll need an IBAN, while global transfers outside of Europe may also require a BIC/SWIFT code.
4. Payment Links
Need to pay someone who isn't on Revolut? Create a secure Payment Link and send it via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. Your friend follows the link, enters their bank details, and claims the money, at no extra cost to you. You can also use this method to request money.
5. Transfer via cards
Send money directly to someone's card. For card transfers within Europe, you just need the recipient's 16-digit card number. Please note that some specific cards and countries are not supported. Learn more about card transfers.
