Top tips for smooth card transfers

  1. Save your recipient's details

Sending money to your favourite person often? Make repeat transfers even quicker by saving their details in-app.

  2. Double-check your recipient's details

Mistakes happen, but don't let them happen to you. Make sure you're sending a transfer to the right card number by checking the last 4 digits of their card before you send.

  3. Confirm your recipient's currency

Your recipient might only receive transfers in a specific currency. Check this with them to avoid being charged extra for currency conversion.

  4. Check exchange rates and fees

You'll see all fees in-app before you send. Pay attention to these to avoid surprises.

Card Transfer FAQs

  • A card transfer is a direct money transfer from one bank account to a debit card, which is linked to another bank account. In other words, it allows you to send money from your bank account to someone else's via their 16-digit card number. Card transfers can be either local (between two accounts in the same country) or international (between accounts in two different countries). No matter where you're sending to, card transfers are usually quick and can take place 24/7, but in some cases they can take up to 30 minutes. Revolut isn't a bank in all countries, but you can still send card transfers with your Revolut account.
  • Here's how you can easily send card transfers with Revolut:

    Supported card types

You can send to most debit, credit, and in a few instances prepaid debit cards issued by Visa or MasterCard. If a bank doesn't accept transfers to card, we'll let you know in-app, and you won’t be able to save the card recipient. Alternatively, you can try sending them a bank transfer.
