Revolut is a global financial company headquartered in London. Our headquarters is located in the YY London building at Canary Wharf — 113,000 square feet across 4 floors, right at the centre of one of the world's most important financial districts.
But the story of where Revolut is based is about more than a postcode. We sat down with UK CEO Francesca Carlesi to talk about why London has always been home, what our Canary Wharf headquarters represents, and where we're headed next.

Where is Revolut based?
Revolut is based in London. We launched here in July 2015, and our connection to the UK has been central to everything we've built since.
When we asked Francesca why London was always going to be the answer, she didn't hesitate: "This is where our roots are, and if you want to grow far, you need strong roots."
Today, we serve over 70 million customers worldwide, with 13 million of them right here in the UK, as it remains our single largest market.
As Francesca put it: "London and the UK has proven to be a country that's very stable, a great combination of talent, capital, and technology. It was obvious."
Where is Revolut's headquarters?
Revolut's global headquarters is in the YY London building at Canary Wharf, London. We recently moved into this newly refurbished space, which covers 113,000 square feet across 4 floors and was purpose-built for the way modern teams work.
Francesca describes it as far more than an office: "It's not just a place to work. It's a space where teams can collaborate, create, and enjoy life a bit."
The choice of Canary Wharf was deliberate. "We always had our office in the UK," Francesca noted, "but this combination, the new headquarters plus the banking licence, has elevated where Revolut sits within the overall financial services environment."
Why Canary Wharf?
Revolut's Canary Wharf office puts us at the centre of a mature, well-connected financial market where we have an established brand, a growing customer base, and close proximity to regulators and policymakers — increasingly important as we operate as a live UK bank.
But it also reiterates something bigger, as Francesca explained: "It's not only about what we do locally. It's about London being the springboard for us to grow globally."
How does our remote-first culture fit with a world-class headquarters?
One of the most common questions about our Canary Wharf office is whether it signals a shift away from flexible working. It doesn't.
Francesca is clear on this: "At Revolut, we have a philosophy of flexible, hybrid working, and I hope that's never going to change. What matters at Revolut is what you do, the outcomes you deliver, not the process. You have maximum flexibility to work when you want, from wherever you want."
The headquarters and the remote-first culture aren't in conflict. They work together. The office is there for when teams need to collaborate, create, or come together, but it's not a daily requirement. You have the best of both worlds, a world-class office when you need it, and the freedom to manage your own schedule.
What does being a live UK bank mean?
Becoming a live UK bank is a major milestone. And it changes what we can offer customers here.
"It means two things," Francesca explained. "First, we can offer more products that we were able to offer before and probably satisfy any financial needs and anybody. Ideally, we would like customers to think of Revolut as a primary bank, not just as a transactional card. [...] The second part is about trust as well which is as a bank people can feel that we are subject to the same regulatory scrutiny the same controls and the same compliance of any other bank so they can feel safe putting their money with us."
Upcoming features include personal loans, credit cards, investment products, fixed-term savings, and more tailored experiences for customers with different financial profiles.

How are we growing for you?
We're accelerating our global expansion with a $13 billion (£10 billion) investment over the next 5 years, with ambitious targets across every region:
Region | Investment | Key focus |
United Kingdom | $4 billion (£3 billion) | 1,000+ new jobs and local banking services |
Western Europe | $1.2 billion (£880 million) | Paris hub and French banking licence |
United States | $500 million (£375 million) | Accelerating operations and local features |
Global total | $13 billion (£10 billion) | Reaching 100 million customers by mid-2027 |
We're also expanding across Latin America, APAC, Africa, and the Middle East, with a planned bank launch in Mexico, new licences in India, and a global tech hub in the Philippines.
Customer trust is central to everything we do
Francesca is candid about how we earn customer trust.
"Measuring trust is very difficult," she says. "We talk a lot to our customers, we monitor what they tell us, we receive feedback, and we act on it."
Building it comes down to 3 things: best-in-class security and controls, consistency especially in difficult moments like a lost card or a failed payment, and never letting people down. "You can build trust over years and lose it overnight. So we focus not just on being great on average, but on being great in every single moment of truth."
