New Revolut security features: Hidden accounts, Street Mode, and more

Security · 18 September 2026Team Revolut

Keeping your money safe is something we prioritise every day, proactively. With over 80 million customers relying on us, we're always adding new ways to give you more control over your account's security.

Why we keep building new security tools

Fraud tactics change constantly, so our approach to security has to change with them. Our machine learning platform analyses millions of transactions every month to spot signs of fraud, and we pair that with a dedicated, 24/7 Financial Crime team.

Hidden accounts, Wealth Protection, Street Mode and in-app banner for call verification provide more layers of custom security on top of the 24/7 protections already going on in the background. They give you extra control over what's visible and what needs your confirmation, on your terms.

Hidden accounts: control exactly what’s visible in-app

You can hide specific accounts from your main view. Hidden accounts let you keep a currency account, Pocket, or savings account out of sight until you choose to view it.

To hide an account, go to 'Accounts', long-press the one you'd like to hide, and turn the feature on. From then on, that account won't show up in your everyday balance or your total wealth figure.

To access it again, find the 'Hidden accounts' folder further down the 'Accounts' screen. Scan your face or fingerprint, and you’re in.

Your main account can't be hidden, but currency accounts, Pockets, savings accounts, and linked accounts all can. You can also hide individual transactions rather than a whole account. These sit in a separate list under 'Security', with the same biometric check needed before you can view them.

This is useful if you occasionally show your app to a friend, or simply want an extra layer of privacy around money you're setting aside for something specific, like a gift or a plan you're not ready to discuss yet.

Wealth Protection and Street Mode: extra control over your outgoing money

You can add an extra confirmation step before money leaves your account. Wealth Protection lets you set a limit for transfers or withdrawals from your investments, savings, crypto, Pockets, or main balance. Once you're above that limit, we'll ask for biometric authentication before the payment goes through. This doesn't cover card payments or physical ATM withdrawals just yet.

To turn it on, tap your profile icon in the top-left corner, then go to 'Security', then 'Wealth protection'. From there, you can choose which balances or assets you'd like protected and set your own limit.

Street Mode builds on this by adding location awareness. If you make a transfer above your Wealth Protection limit while away from the trusted locations you’ve set, such as home or work, we'll delay that transfer for a custom period, between 30 minutes and 6 hours, then ask for a second biometric check to confirm it. If you're at a trusted location, transfers above your limit only need one check, with no delay.

This is designed for moments when you're distracted or in an unfamiliar place, which is often when fraudsters try to catch people off guard.

Know when it's really us calling

You shouldn't trust a call from someone claiming to be Revolut unless the app confirms it. We'll only ever call you through our secure app, usually after arranging it with you first through in-app chat.

If someone calls out of the blue claiming to be from us, open the app during the call. You'll see a live banner at the top of your screen: a neutral banner if it's genuinely us, or a red banner reading "Revolut is not calling you" if it isn't. If you see the red banner, hang up and tap the banner to report what happened.

Impersonation scams often rely on urgency and confusion, using spoofing or AI voice cloning to sound convincing. We'll never ask you to move money to a 'safe account', share a one-time passcode, approve a login request for someone else, or share your PIN over the phone. If a caller asks for any of these, that's a clear sign it isn't us. No, Wealth Protection applies to transfers and withdrawals from your investments, savings, crypto, Pockets, and main balance, not to card payments or physical ATM withdrawals.
