We're here to make things as easy as possible and change the way you approach investing.

The quick verdict: is Revolut good for your goals?
Yes, we're a great choice if you want to keep your daily spending and your investments together in one app. We've worked hard to remove the walls that old-fashioned institutions often put up. You'll find that having everything in one place makes it much easier to see the bigger picture of your finances. You can move money in seconds from your spending balance to your investments, which means you can start building your wealth the moment you get paid.
If you're looking for a quick summary, here are the main things to know:
- Accessibility: you can start with as little as £1 by buying fractional shares which are essentially slices of shares. Fractional shares may not grant voting rights, and may be more vulnerable to market volatility.
- All-in-one app: your investment account sits right next to your main balance, so moving money is fast and convenient.
- Your options: choose from over 4,000 stocks and 1,000+ ETFs. Remember, the value of your investments can go up as well as down

How are my assets protected?
It's important to know how we keep your money secure:
- Asset protection: your assets are held by us in safe custody under the CASS rules. Under the FSCS, you may be eligible for up to £85,000 in compensation if Revolut Trading Ltd fails to return your assets. Market losses are not covered. Check our Help Centre for more details.
- Biometric security: we use features like Face ID and fingerprint recognition to make sure only you can access your account.
- Live alerts: you'll get a notification the moment a trade or transfer happens, so you're always in control.

What can you invest in with Revolut?
We provide access to thousands of global assets to help you build a diversified portfolio.
- Global stocks: over 4,000 US and European equities. Use fractional shares to own a piece of a high-priced company without buying a full share. Fractional shares may not grant voting rights, and may carry higher volatility risks.
- ETFs: choose from over 1,000 'baskets' of assets. These funds bundle multiple securities, like the companies in the S&P 500 or the energy sector, into a single trade. While diversification helps manage risk, it doesn’t eliminate it.
General investment account
This is our standard account for trading. It's a great place to start if you're testing the waters or if you've already used up your Stocks and Shares ISA tax-free allowance for the year. There's no limit on how much you can put in, but remember you may have to pay tax if you gain any profits.
Revolut doesn't offer tax, legal, or accounting advice. You are solely responsible for paying all taxes, making any related claims, filing returns, and providing necessary information to tax authorities.

Learning features
We offer Learn courses in-app. These are short lessons that explain topics from how interest works to what a stock is. By finishing these and passing a quick quiz, you can build your knowledge. It's a great way to grow your confidence before you start putting your money into the market.
To start learning in the Revolut app: go to Invest on the bottom menu → scroll to Learn.
Learn more about our stock trading courses.
Wealth Protection
If your phone is stolen while it's unlocked, someone could try to change your password. That's why we use Wealth Protection. It's a security step that uses your face or fingerprint to check if it's really you before you move any of your investments. While other apps might only check once, we check twice to keep your money where it belongs.
To set up Wealth Protection: tap your profile icon in the top-left corner → Security → Wealth Protection.

How much does it cost to invest?
We've designed our fees to be fair, especially if you're on one of our paid plans. While traditional brokers might charge you a fixed amount every time you trade, we use a variable commission as a percentage of the trade size. Paid plan users can get up to 10 commission free trades per month. You’ll see a full breakdown of any costs before you confirm a trade, so there aren’t any surprises.
Fees for buying and selling
Depending on your plan, you’ll have a certain amount of monthly commission-free trades. Once you've used up your commission-free trades for the month, we'll charge the following commission fees:
Plan | Commission-free trades | Commission fees (%) |
Standard | 1 | 0.25 |
Plus | 3 | 0.25 |
Premium | 5 | 0.25 |
Metal | 10 | 0.25 |
Ultra | 10 | 0.12 |
T&Cs apply.
Currency exchange and other costs
If you're in the UK and buying US stocks, you'll need to turn your pounds into dollars. We use a competitive exchange rate to do this. Here's what you need to know:
- Currency exchange allowance: depending on your plan, you get a monthly fair usage limit for currency exchange. Within this limit, you swap currencies at our competitive rate with no extra fees during weekdays.
- Fair usage fee: if you exceed your monthly allowance, a small fee applies (typically 1% for Standard customers). T&Cs apply.
- Weekend markup: markets close on the weekends. If you exchange currencies while they're closed, a small additional fee is applied to protect against price fluctuations (typically 1% for Standard customers). T&Cs apply.
- Zero holding fees: unlike many traditional brokers, we don’t charge 'custody fees' or monthly maintenance costs just to hold your stocks in your account.
T&Cs apply.
