5 ways to send money on Revolut, locally and internationally
Moving money shouldn't feel like a chore. Choose between the following methods so you can enjoy convenience and flexibility.
1. Phone numbers
Instantly pay any of your contacts who are also on Revolut. If they are in your contacts, they’ll show up automatically in the app, once you give permission to share contacts.
2. Revtags (usernames)
A Revtag is your unique Revolut username. It allows Revolut customers to send and receive money to each other without sharing information like your phone number or bank details.
- To find yours: tap your profile icon (top-left corner), then tap the tag beneath your name
- To change it: you can edit your Revtag directly within your profile settings.
For quick transfers with other Revolut customers, just share your Revtags or scan the QR code in-app within the profile.
3. Bank transfers
Move money to any account worldwide. For transfers in Ireland and the SEPA area, you just need the recipient's name and IBAN. For global transfers outside Europe, you may also need a BIC/SWIFT code.
4. Payment links
Need to pay someone who isn't on Revolut? Create a secure payment link and send it via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. Your friend follows the link, enters their bank details, and claims the money, at no extra cost to you. You can also use this method to request money.
5. Card transfers
Send money directly to an external card. For card transfers within Europe, you just need the recipient's 16-digit card number and you'll need to send a minimum of €2. For global card transfers outside Europe, the minimum is €10, though please note that some specific cards and countries aren't supported. Learn more about card transfers.
