Did you know you can make international and domestic transfers with Revolut? You can send money quickly in 70+ currencies to 160+ countries. There’s no waiting in long lines at the bank or expensive fees, either — we don’t charge any fees for international transfers.¹ My Number submissions are required for overseas transfers.²

¹Depending on the currency or country you’re sending to, an intermediary bank might be involved and charge a fee.

Please note, it’s possible the amount the recipient gets might be less than the original amount. Check out our FAQ for more information.

What can I transfer?

You can transfer:

  • money added by bank transfer
  • money internationally between Revolut customers in seconds, and free of charge

You can’t transfer:

  • money added by credit card, debit card, or prepaid card
  • amounts larger than 1 million yen

How to make international transfers

Make sure you have the latest version of the app,  and follow the steps below to make international transfers:

  1. Head to the home screen, and tap Payments in the bottom menu
  2. Tap + in the top right corner of your screen
  3. Select Send international, or scroll down to browse your previous recipients
  4. Select Destination and enter the amount that you want to send. If there's a fee for transferring, it'll be displayed on this screen, then tap Continue
  5. On the Account details screen, if you’re sending money to a non-business account, choose Individual. If it’s a business bank account, choose Business
  6. Type the beneficiary's details. Their three-digit institution number, transit number, and first and last name or company name need to be entered exactly as registered at the beneficiary's bank (using katakana or the alphabet).
  7. Review the details and confirm the transfer.

Anything else I should know?

Sending money to a country in a non-native currency

On the tab where you enter how much you want to send, you can see the native currency of the receiving country. If you want to send money in another currency, just tap on its icon to change it.

Exchanging currency and transferring at the same time

If you don’t have enough balance in the currency you wish to transfer, you can automatically exchange another currency you hold, and send it to the receiver, in-app.

For example, if you want to send USD to your US bank account, but you only have JPY in your account, we’ll convert it and send it for you. On the tab where you enter the sending amount, tap Balance below the currency to change the currency to JPY. This will prevent you from exchanging currency before your money is transferred.
