Eligibility requirements
You can apply for a Basic Account if you meet any of the following conditions:
• You live in the European Union, even if you don't have a permanent home
• You're an asylum seeker
• You don't have a residence permit but legal or practical reasons prevent your expulsion
• You don't have an account with another payment service provider in Spain, or you've closed any previous accounts with other payment service providers in Spain
This regulated account for private use offers limited payment services. Everyone aged 18 or over who meets the eligibility criteria is entitled to open a Basic Account with us.
Other requirements

Here's what you can do with your Basic Account:

• Make card payments and transfers
• Withdraw cash at ATMs in the EU

Apply for a Basic account
Before applying, make sure you're eligible for a Basic Account, and you meet the criteria. This account offers basic functionality and may restrict access to certain features in the Revolut app. Tap 'Open a Basic account' to apply. You'll need to declare that you don't have another payment account in Spain, and that you've closed any previous accounts. Once you've applied, you’ll get a confirmation email to check your details, and you can then register and set up your account.
How to raise a complaint
You can submit a complaint via our online form or by emailing us at [email protected].
If you're not happy with our Customer Care Service's response, or if at least 15 business days have passed without a resolution, you may escalate your complaint to the Bank of Spain’s Entity Conduct Department.
