How to know it’s really Revolut calling
Sicherheit · 28. Februar 2025Team Revolut
Impersonation scams are on the rise, and fraudsters are evolving all the time. So when your phone rings, how can you be sure it’s really Revolut? We’ve got a simple rule that’ll keep you one step ahead.
If it’s not in the app, it’s not us
We’ll only ever call you through our secure app, unless we’ve already arranged to do so via phone through our in-app chat. If someone calls you out of the blue — claiming to be from Revolut — and it hasn't been confirmed or flagged through the app, it’s a scam. No exceptions.
Hang up immediately and report it via our in-app chat.
Why only the app?
We want to stop fraud in its tracks so we can protect what’s yours, and this means staying one step ahead. Using the app for calls means you can always trust it’s us. You'll be securely authenticated before we even start the conversation, giving fraudsters no room to manoeuvre — and you some more peace of mind.
An extra layer of security
To make things crystal clear, here’s what we'll never ask you to do during a call:
- Send money to a ‘safe account’ or any other account
- Make a payment for any reason
- Ignore fraud or payment warnings
- Share your PIN or personal details
If you hear any of these red flags, it’s a scam — hang up and report it.
The cost of fraud
Impersonation scams are a major problem, costing UK residents over 136.2 million in 2023 alone. With Revolut, you’re protected by a specialist 24/7 financial crime team. We estimate our customers saved more than £475 million in potentially fraudulent transactions that same year — and we’re constantly evolving to find even more innovative ways to protect your money.
Does it really work?
Our in-app call feature helps you instantly verify whether the person on the other end is genuinely us — or just another scammer. It’s a simple but effective way to protect you from fraud.
Your security is our priority. So remember: if it’s not in the app, it’s not us. Stay sharp, stay secure, and always report anything suspicious.
