Sending money online is simple with Revolut. Here's how:
- Download our app for free on your Android or iPhone device, then sign up.
- Add money to your Revolut account via card, bank account, digital wallet, and more.
- Choose your destination country, currency, and amount.
- Check our exchange rates, fees, and estimated delivery times in-app.
- Enter your recipient's details. You'll usually need their full name, bank account number, and bank code. We may ask you for some additional information depending on the transfer method and destination country.
- Tap Send and we'll take care of the rest!
Delivery times for online money transfers depend on the transfer method you choose, the country you're sending from, and the currency.
- International bank transfers from the USA generally arrive in 3 to 5 working days.
- Transfers to other Revolut customers are instant. You can send and receive money in less than 20 seconds.
We don't set transfer limits for most currencies and destination countries, but our payment partners may have set their own limits. You'll always see these in-app before you send.
The details you need for online money transfers may vary depending on the destination country and currency.
- For local bank transfers within the US, you'll generally need the recipient's full name, bank account number, and routing number. We might ask you for additional information like their city and phone number.
- For international transfers, you may need their BIC/SWIFT code, too. Certain countries may require additional details. For example, you may need a BSB number for Australia, and an IBAN for Europe.
- For transfers to other Revolut friends, you can simply choose someone from your contact list. You can also search for someone by email, phone number, or Revtag. You can also scan their QR code.
- When you send via payment link, you don't need any details at all. Just create the payment link, enter your amount and payment method, and send the link to your recipient. They'll be able to claim your money without giving you their account details.
