Check if you're eligible
You can apply for a Basic account if you don't have, or haven't applied, for an account with another Belgian bank.¹ Please note that we can't accept applications if you already benefit from our basic banking service, or have another payment account with a credit institution located in Belgium. You'll also need to ensure your annual cumulative credit balance doesn't exceed €10,000.
¹To apply for a Basic account, you also need to be an EU legal resident or a Belgian national living outside the EU, removed from Belgium's population register within the last 10 years. This regulated current account for private use offers limited services free of charge. All persons aged 18 or over who satisfy the eligibility criteria are entitled to this service.
