Tap to Pay on iPhone uses mobile devices to accept contactless payments. It doesn’t require any additional equipment, just a device that supports near-field communication (NFC) to exchange wireless information.
With Tap to Pay on iPhone and a Revolut Pro account, you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments right on your iPhone — from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets. It’s easy, secure, and private.
Revolut Pro offers a simplified business account within your personal Revolut mobile app. It’s built to meet the needs of people with smaller-scale ventures — like freelancers, sole traders, and side-hustlers.
Whether you're registered with your local business registry or not, you can use Revolut Pro to make or take payments using features like Tap to Pay on iPhone.
Once you set up a Pro account within your Revolut account, you’ll receive a separate IBAN (international bank account number), which comes with its own debit card, account details, and cashback offers.
We don’t charge a subscription fee for Revolut Pro, but we do charge fees for accepting customer payments.
With Tap to Pay on iPhone and Revolut Pro, there’s a low, flat fee of 1.7% per transaction — letting you keep more of what you earn with no hidden costs.
Accept payments from contactless-enabled Mastercard and Visa debit and credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and other digital wallets using Tap to Pay on iPhone.
Contactless-enabled cards are marked with a visible symbol. If your customer doesn’t have a contactless payment method, you can also choose to accept payments via our Revolut Reader, QR Codes, or Payment Links.
To set up Tap to Pay on iPhone with your Revolut Pro account, please make sure your app is up-to-date, your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi, and your device is iOS compatible and passcode protected.
Follow these steps to get started:
1. Select New sale on Revolut Pro account dashboard
2. Choose Tap to Pay on iPhone → Get started
3. Sign into your Apple Account and accept the T&Cs
4. Your iPhone set-up is complete
5. Start taking payments
Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in security and privacy features of iPhone to help protect your business and customer data. When a payment is processed, Apple doesn’t store card numbers or PIN information on iPhone or on Apple servers. So merchants and customers can have peace of mind.
Tap to Pay on iPhone is supported on iPhone XS and newer devices, including iPhone SE 2nd & 3rd generations. Please note that a fully active Revolut Pro account is required to access Tap to Pay on iPhone.
