  • Revolut added a new payment method into its app in Poland as a key piece to position itself as primary account for Polish customers
  • With BLIK, more than 4M Revolut customers in Poland can quickly and safely pay online, in brick-and-mortar stores and withdraw money from ATMs

Revolut, the global financial technology company with over 45 million customers worldwide and over 4 million in Poland, released a new payment method in Poland: BLIK. With the help of 6-digit BLIK codes generated in the app, Polish customers will quickly and safely pay online, in brick-and-mortar stores and withdraw money from ATMs.

The popularity of BLIK payments among customers of mobile banking apps in Poland is high and growing steadily. At the end of Q2 2024, it was actively used by almost 17 million Poles. Customers of all banks in Poland already have access to BLIK payments. Today Revolut joins them, making its offer even more diverse and close to Polish customers.

“I’m glad that BLIK has joined the payment methods in Poland such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Revolut disposable virtual cards that our customers use on a daily basis. We want our global offer to also include valued and widely used local solutions - such as BLIK. Transactions with the 6-digit BLIK code are now available to over 4 million Revolut customers in Poland. To use BLIK with your Revolut app, you just need to tap on the PLN pocket, generate the code, insert it to the shop terminal, online checkout or ATM and confirm. Done!” - said Michał Szczotka, Strategy & Operations Manager, Alternative Payment Methods at Revolut.

Revolut customers can pay with BLIK in all Polish e-commerce, an increasing number of foreign shopping platforms, in payment terminals in brick-and-mortar stores, and withdraw cash from over 20,000 ATMs in Poland.

“This is an important moment for us - BLIK is widely available to all users of mobile banking apps in Poland. We are glad that from now on, the most popular payment method in Poland, the BLIK mobile payment system, can be used by Revolut customers” - said Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, CEO, BLIK.

“Revolut and BLIK are tech driven companies and we appreciate our partnership in Poland. Revolut is building its position as the primary bank in European countries and integrations with local payment schemes play a vital role. We just launched Tikkie in the Netherlands, Bizum in Spain and now adding BLIK in Poland. BLIK was one of the most desired features by Polish customers. They asked for BLIK. We delivered. Poland is our 3rd biggest market in Europe in terms of number of customers and we are determined to continue to bring innovations, primary bank features and build our presence in the country” - said David Tirado, Vice President Profitability & Global Business, Partner at Revolut.

How to use BLIK payments in the Revolut app?

To make a BLIK payment update your app to the latest version and tap the BLIK icon on the main screen of the Revolut app. The 6-digit code that will pop-up should be entered in the payment terminal in the offline store, on the check-out page in the online store or ATM screen and confirmed. A notification will come to the phone asking for the final confirmation of the transaction. Tap. Confirmed. That's all!

While the majority of Revolut customers in Poland should get access to the new feature by the end of day today, the staged roll-out will likely last an additional 2-3 few weeks to finally cover all customers.
