Paid Plan Free Trial Terms

What is the Promotion about?

REVOLUT TECHNOLOGIES JAPAN, Inc. (“Revolut”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is offering selected Standard plan customers the opportunity to try one of our paid Personal subscription plans (Premium or Metal Plan) (collectively or individually, a “Paid Plan”) for free for a period of time as agreed by us (“Promotion”). Selected customers will be able to access this Promotion through the relevant landing page (“Landing Page”) in the Email or in-app notice (“Promotion Notice”) sent by us.

These terms and conditions (the “Promotion Terms”) set out the rules that apply to the Promotion. When participating in this Promotion, you must comply with these Promotion Terms, as well as:

Who is eligible for this Promotion?

This Promotion is open to customers on the Standard Plan who have received a Promotion Notice from us and who have passed our Know Your Customer requirements and have been successfully onboarded as Revolut Personal customers.

This Promotion runs for a defined period of time at Revolut’s discretion (the “Promotion Period”).

How do I start my Free Trial?

To start your Free Trial, you will need to complete the steps to upgrade your Revolut Personal account to your offered subscription plan within the Promotion Period specified in the Landing page. Just so you know, the terms and conditions for your selected Paid Plan (e.g. the terms and conditions that apply to Metal Plan if you choose to try Metal Plan) will apply to you during your Free Trial.

We will not charge you the subscription fee for the period of time included in your Free Trial. We’ll tell you in the Landing Page how long you’ll receive your selected Paid Plan for free (“Free Trial Period”) so you’re aware before you sign up.

If you do not notify us of the termination of the paid plan before the end of the Free Trial Period, the Paid Plan will continue after the Free Trial Period ends, and the normal subscription fee (whether monthly or annually) for the Paid Plan will apply. Please be aware of this.

Right to cancel

You have the right to cancel your subscription plan within the Free Trial Period, after which normal cancellation rules will apply.

This means that certain fees (Including the card related fees mentioned below.) or penalties specified by us may be incurred when canceling (downgrading) the Paid Plan. For details, please refer to section "4. Terminating your Premium or Metal subscription" in the Premium & Metal Terms and Conditions and the referenced pages on Personal Fees (Metal) or Personal Fees (Premium).

Please note that in this case, the start date for calculating any applicable fees or penalties will be the day after the free trial period ends.

Physical Revolut card

You can order one physical Revolut card free of charge during your Free Trial period. However, if you cancel the Paid Plan during the Free Trial Period, you will be required to pay the applicable card related fees as determined by us, depending on the Paid Plan you subscribed to.

What other legal information should I know?

  1. To be eligible for a reward of the Promotion, you must comply with the Promotion Terms and all other terms and conditions applicable to your Revolut account and Revolut services you receive.
  2. Revolut may, at our sole discretion, suspend, terminate or change the Promotion or change the Promotion Terms in whole or in part without prior notice. Revolut will not be liable for any loss or damages incurred by you as a result of this.
  3. Please contact Support if you believe you qualify for a particular benefit in relation to the Promotion that has not been awarded to you as a result of early suspension or termination.
  4. You will lose access to the Free Trial if you close your Revolut Personal account or your account becomes suspended or restricted.
  5. Revolut will not be liable for any loss, whether directly or indirectly suffered, as a result of an event outside of its control.
  6. If you conduct fraudulent or malicious activities in respect of the Promotion or you breach the Promotion Terms or other terms and conditions applicable to your Revolut account, or if we reasonably suspect either of the above, we may, at our sole discretion, take appropriate action (including restricting or closing your account or voiding your rewards).
  7. The Promotion Terms are originally published in Japanese and this English translation is prepared for reference purposes only. The Japanese language version of the Promotion Terms shall prevail.
  8. The Promotion Terms are governed by Japanese law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Promotion Terms is subject to exclusive agreed jurisdiction of the first instance of the Tokyo District Court.
