Check if you're eligible
You can open a Basic account if you live in the EU and don't hold an account with another credit institution in Italy, or if you close an existing account.
Make sure you meet the following criteria:
• You don't hold a payment account with a bank in Italy
• You're a legal resident in the European Union
• You're over 18 years of age
• You may also be eligible if you currently hold a basic account with a bank in Italy but have received notice that your account will be closed

Go back to basics with your finances
Receive money, like your wages or social welfare, straight into your Basic account. Plus, use it to pay bills, set up Direct Debits, make card payments, transfer money, and withdraw cash at ATMs in the EU.
Everything you need is at your fingertips, in-app or on our website. For more information, head to the Bank of Italy website below. T&Cs apply.

Check if you could have stamp duty waived
If the amount on your valid ISEE declaration is up to €11,600, you may be entitled to have any stamp duty payments waived.
In this case, please share this information with us via the Basic account application form linked at the bottom of this page. You'll be asked to upload your valid ISEE declaration in the form, which will indicate that your Basic account should have the 'socially disadvantaged band' feature.
If your valid ISEE declaration isn't available yet, you'll be asked to make a self declaration as part of the application, on the understanding that you'll submit a valid ISEE declaration with amount up to €11,600 before 31 May.

Apply for your Basic account
Before applying, make sure you're eligible for a Basic account based on the criteria above. Please note that this account will have basic functionality only, and you may not be able to use several features in the Revolut app.
