  • If you're operating as a sole trader – you don't have to have a business account, but it's a good idea to so. If you're operating a partnership, company, or a trust — you must have a separate account for tax purposes. With a business account, you'll find it easier to:
    • track your business expenses and income.
    • control your business expenses and income.
    • clearly show your business finances separate from your personal finances.
    • get the information you need for your accountant or to meet your tax and reporting obligations.
    • Keeping your private and business transactions recorded separately can save you time and money when it comes to preparing financial documents, activity statements and tax returns.
  • Opening a Revolut Business account is simple:
    1. Fill out a short online form — it only takes about 10 minutes
    2. We’ll review your Business account application
    3. If you’re approved, your account will be set up and you’ll be ready to go

  • To open a Revolut Business account, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
    • Your company must be fully incorporated and active.
    • Your company must be registered in an eligible country.
    • Your company's legal form shouldn't be a charity, operate in the public sector, act as a cooperative (all legal forms will be listed for your jurisdiction during signup. If you don't find your legal form listed, unfortunately we can't support your company at the moment).
    • Your company doesn’t operate in unsupported industries.
    • Your current legal home address should be in AU, US, UK, Switzerland or EEA.
  • Revolut Business offers 3 plans in Australia depending on your needs:
    • Grow plan: starts at $21 per month, paid annually. It includes all the essential features your small business needs. You can receive or hold 25+ currencies, exchange money at the interbank rate, make bulk payments, view analytics, access your account via API, and more.
    • Scale plan: starts at $79 per month, paid annually. It includes all the Grow plan features, as well as increased plan allowances for transfers, currency exchange, and Metal cards.
    • Enterprise plan: designed for businesses with higher volumes. It includes all the Scale plan features, as well as increased plan allowances for transfers, currency exchange, and Metal cards. Contact us if you need to customise your plan.

  • There is no one definition for ‘small business’. This is because different laws define ‘small business’ differently. However, the Corporations Act defines ‘small proprietary company’ if a business satisfies at least 2 of the following:
    • the consolidated gross operating revenue for the financial year of the company and the entities it controls (if any) is less than $10 million.
    • the value of the consolidated gross assets at the end of the financial year of the company and the entities it controls (if any) is less than $5 million.
    • the company and the entities it controls (if any) have fewer than 50 employees at the end of the financial year.
