1. Why is this information important?
The Donations Program is a feature of the Revolut app that allows partner institutions to sign up to receive donations from you.
These terms and conditions (the “Donations Terms”) govern the relationship between you and Revolut Technologies Singapore Pte. Ltd. They apply when you use the Donations Program in the Revolut app.
Please read these terms and conditions carefully.
2. What is the Donations Program?
The Donations Program is a feature of the Revolut app that allows partner institutions to register to receive donations from Revolut customers like you. You can donate to these partner institutions instantly or schedule a regular donation. We collect these donations and pay them to the partner institutions. We refer to the donations as “Funds.”
Any duly registered partner institution may apply to be listed in the Donations Program. However, we must approve partner institutions before they are actually listed in the Donations Program.
3. What happens to the Funds that are donated?
All Funds donated to a given partner institution are collected and held on behalf of the institution and paid to it on a regular basis. The intervals at which we pay the partner institution and the currency in which we pay them are agreed between us and the partner institution.
Sometimes, a partner institution listed in the Donations Program will have been approved by another company within the Revolut group rather than by us. In this case, all Donations Terms will still apply, but we will send any Funds to that other company, which will collect and regularly pay them to the partner institution instead of us.
4. Are there any fees?
We do not charge partner institutions any fees to use the Donations Program. We also do not charge you any fees to make donations. Partner institutions will receive all Funds donated by you, subject to any currency conversion that may occur in accordance with our contract with the partner institution (for example, if you donate in euros but the partner institution wishes to be paid in U.S. dollars, we will convert your euros into U.S. dollars before sending them to the partner institution).
5. Who can I donate to?
You may donate only to partner institutions listed in the Donations Program.
Any organization duly registered as a partner institution may apply to be listed in the Donations Program, but we must approve partner institutions before they are actually listed. We may approve, reject, or remove partner institutions at our sole discretion and at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular partner institution will always be available in the Donations Program.
When a partner institution applies to be listed, it must inform us of the reason for which it wishes to receive donations. If approved, the partner institution agrees to use the Funds solely for that specific reason. We refer to this reason as the “Cause.” Although we require partner institutions to agree to use the Funds only for the Cause, we cannot guarantee that they will do so.
6. How can I schedule, make, or cancel donations?
Currently, you may donate in the following ways:
- You may make one-off, instant donations.
- You may schedule regular donations for the future.
- You may instruct us to round up the amount of your purchases and donate the difference.
We reserve the right to add or remove donation methods at any time.
You may cancel any future donation before it is made, but you may not cancel any donation after it has been made, and we cannot refund it. This applies to all donations, whether made as one-off donations, by rounding up spare change, or as scheduled donations. For example, if you schedule a donation at regular intervals, you may cancel it before the day it is paid, but you may not cancel it after it has been made.
How does rounding up my spare change work?
If you instruct us to “round up my spare change” to the nearest whole number on any card transaction you make and donate the difference, we will do exactly that. By enabling the “round up my spare change” option, you authorize us to withdraw an amount from your Revolut account between USD 0.01 and USD 0.99 per card transaction (or the equivalent in the currency of the card transaction) and donate those Funds. The exact donation amount will depend on the amount of the card transaction and cannot be increased or reduced. For example, if you buy a coffee for USD 3.40, we will round that transaction up to USD 4.00 and donate the difference of USD 0.60.
You may enable and disable the “round up my spare change” option in the app, but it may only be enabled for one partner institution at a time.
You may also choose to “boost” your spare change rounding. This means you may authorize us to increase your donation by multiples from 2 to 10. If you use a boost of 10, you authorize us to withdraw an amount from your Revolut account of up to USD 9.90 per card transaction (or the equivalent in the currency of the card transaction).
7. Will partner institutions contact me?
At present, the Donations Program does not allow partner institutions to contact you directly. However, this may change in the future. If we begin to offer this support, we will notify you, and this section of the Donations Terms will apply.
Occasionally, a partner institution may wish to contact you. For example, it may want to tell you more about the Cause or other projects, or simply to thank you. We may allow you to opt in to and opt out of the partner institution’s contact list in the app using the “Contact” button. As a rule, you will be excluded from the partner institution’s contact list unless you opt in using the “Contact” option.
If you choose to allow contact, the partner institution will receive your name and email address so that it may contact you. If you later choose to stop allowing contact, we will instruct the partner institution to stop contacting you and to delete your name and email address. This may take some time to be processed. If you wish, you may also opt out of further contact directly with the partner institution.
We are not responsible for the information that the partner institution sends to you, but under our contract with it, we require it to contact you only in relation to the Cause and no more than once per week.

When we transfer rights and obligations, we call this a “novation.” When we transfer rights only, we call this an “assignment.”

Our right to enforce the contract
If you breach this contract and we do not enforce our rights, or delay enforcing them, this will not prevent us from enforcing those or any other rights at a later date. This also applies if we have any legal rights that we do not enforce immediately.
Termination of this contract
This contract begins when you accept these Donations Terms. You must accept them in order to begin using the Donations Program.
You may stop using the Donations Program at any time by deactivating it in the Revolut mobile app.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our mutual liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with this contract, arising in any manner whatsoever, shall be limited to USD 50,000.
Except where expressly stated in this contract, all conditions, warranties, terms, and other representations that would otherwise be implied or imposed by statute, common law, a course of dealing, or otherwise are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
