The financial superapp is now enabling U.S. customers to transfer money in up to 30 minutes

San Francisco – Revolut, the global financial superapp with over 18 million customers worldwide, announced today that US customers can now transfer money to bank accounts in Mexico, fee-free and in up to 30 minutes.

A leader in foreign exchange and borderless payments, Revolut has been constantly improving the way expats in the US send money to families and communities back home – with efficiency top-of-mind – since it launched in the US in March 2020.

Revolut introduced accessible, fast, low-cost cross-border payments with the launch of its US-Mexico remittance corridor in July 2021, enabling customers in the US to easily transfer money to Mexico without any hidden fees, at the real exchange rate. Soon after, in October 2021, the global financial superapp announced it would be offering all Revolut US consumers 10 free international transfers per month.

Now, US customers can make up to 10 international transfers per month to any bank account in Mexico, fee-free and in up to 30 minutes. Customers can find more details on how to send money to Mexico on Revolut’s website or directly within the Revolut app.

Driven by delivering the best user experience, the global financial superapp has thoughtfully crafted its money transfer features to afford its customers full visibility of where their money is going and when. Customers can sign up for an account in minutes and make transfers soon after. Using Revolut’s bank transfer tracker, customers can conveniently check the status of their transfers directly within the app.

A leader in foreign exchange and borderless payments, Revolut has been constantly improving the way expats in the US send money to families and communities back home – with efficiency top-of-mind – since it launched in the US in March 2020.

“Last year, over $45 billion was sent from the US to Mexico, and had these funds been transferred through Revolut, over $2.25 billion would’ve been unlocked for US customers,” said Juan Miguel Guerra, CEO of Revolut Mexico. “Despite being the largest remittance corridor in the world, sending money from the US to Mexico is slow and expensive. We are now offering the service fee-free in up to 30 minutes and are tremendously proud to be putting more money back in the pockets of families in Mexico and the USA.”

Beyond remittances, Revolut is continuing to double down on its Latin American expansion efforts in 2022. Led by CEO, Juan Miguel Guerra, Revolut Mexico is actively hiring talent to join its founding team and bring Revolut’s financial services to Mexican consumers.
