What is a W-8 BEN form?
A W-8 BEN form is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS - US Tax Authority) form that serves as a Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner. By completing this form you confirm that you're not a US taxpayer and that a reduced rating of Withholding may be applied depending on your country of residence and any tax treaty between that country and the US.
During your onboarding process for a trading account with Revolut, your W8-BEN form is automatically completed based on the information you provide. It's then signed electronically when you complete onboarding and is held by our third party broker.
We'll be making this completed W-8 BEN form available to clients in-app in a future version. For now, contact our customer support if you need a copy of your W8-BEN.
