A key driver of Revolut's ongoing growth is its ability to revolutionise the financial operations of businesses on a global scale.

At the heart of this mission, Account Executives bring their helpful personalities and commercial skills to identify new opportunities, build solid relationships, and ensure customers get the most out of Revolut Business.

So, what does it mean to be an Account Executive at Revolut? Through the experience of 3 Revoluters, each representing their respective market — Matthias (Benelux), Tomas (Italy), and Lynn (Romania) — you'll learn valuable insights on working in sales and how to take your career to the next level.

Defining the Role of an Account Executive

In the dynamic financial industry, being an Account Executive isn't just about selling a product; it's about understanding customer needs, building trust, and showcasing how our technology can provide solutions. As Mattias Werner, Sales Manager for Benelux, says:

"A great seller is a combination of deep product knowledge, creativity, and a lot of relationship building, transforming moments into opportunities to inspire, educate, and empower businesses looking for a financial solution that does more for their money."

Debunking sales myths

Myth 1: Sales is all about what you tell your customers

For Tomas Yahni, Sales Manager for Italy, working at Revolut has been an opportunity to change his perspective on the role. The common belief that working in sales is all about being pushy and solely focused on hitting quotas couldn’t be further from the truth. To Tomas, being in sales is about much more than that.

Myth 2: Sales is for “lone wolves”

We asked Lynn Bekhazi, Sales Manager for Romania, about some of the myths surrounding being part of a sales team. She didn’t hesitate to point out that many people believe Account Executives are solitary people, who work in isolation and complete independence. According to her, nothing could be further from the truth.

Myth 3: Only extroverts can succeed

A common belief is that you need to be very extroverted and lucky to succeed in sales, but for Matthias, Tomas, and Lynn, it’s not about luck or how much you talk. It’s about ownership, drive, and hard work.

Being a great seller means taking pride in closing a deal from end to end. Revolut teams are extremely agile and dynamic, and Account Executives are full-stack professionals, covering the entire sales cycle from beginning to end.

Must-have skills in sales:

Success in sales at Revolut requires a mix of mindset, adaptability, and core skills. Here’s what our leaders believe it takes to excel:

In Lynn Bekhazi’s opinion, a results-driven mindset is a non-negotiable.

"Having a 'Get It Done' attitude and the ability to focus on delivering results is key to always exceeding expectations. That's why developing skills like organisation and planning are essential to anticipate obstacles and achieve incredible results."

Tomás Yahni highlights the importance of flexibility and resilience.

“Some fundamental skills include adaptability, as the market and product offerings are always evolving; resilience, since sales comes with its ups and downs; and being data-driven, as we leverage a lot of analytics to tailor pipeline strategies. Solid communication and relationship-building skills are also key, given the high level of client interaction.”

Matthias Werner believes that success starts with a bold mindset.

"Set high goals and adopt a 'Never Settle' mindset — this is fundamental. The ability to adapt and push beyond traditional ways of doing things is crucial. Explore creativity, simplify processes, and connect the dots to achieve exceptional results."

A typical day in sales

Life in Revolut’s Sales team is dynamic and fulfilling, blending strategy, client engagement, and collaboration. The day often starts with team meetings — a chance to align priorities, refine strategies, and work toward shared goals, whether in the office or remotely.

As Lynn Bekhazi puts it:

"Meeting with my clients is a fundamental part of my daily routine. These interactions allow me to provide the support they need and guide them effectively in addressing any requirements."

Closing a deal is just the beginning. Building lasting relationships is central to the role, ensuring clients feel supported and equipped for success. Data-driven insights and reporting keep strategies sharp and continuously improving.

As Tomás Yahni highlights:

"High-quality reporting to company leadership is essential for maintaining a data-driven perspective. It’s how we ensure constant growth and continuous improvement."

Collaboration is the glue that binds everything together. By working closely with Marketing, Product, and Operations, the team ensures clients receive seamless, impactful solutions.

At its heart, a day in Sales at Revolut is about creating impact — building connections, delivering results, and driving success together.
