Why do I see an extra small charge on my statement?

When you sign up with e-commerce or occasionally thereafter, the merchant would usually attempt a 'ghost authorisation' for a whole amount of 0, 1, or another small number to ensure the card information is valid. The charge is reverted shortly after and although it might appear as 'Pending' for up to 7 days, the money never leaves your Revolut account.
