Board of Directors

Revolut’s chairman founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983, leading the company through its growth for 34 years and overseeing its 2017 merger with Standard Life. Martin is also Senior Independent Director at Glencore. In 2015, Harvard Business Review ranked Martin 22nd out of over 900 in its list of the world’s top performing CEOs. Until May 2020, Martin acted as Chairman of the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority’s Practitioner Panel and was Deputy Chairman of the board of Sky PLC until its acquisition by Comcast in 2018. Prior to this he was the Chairman of FirstGroup. Martin holds an LLB from the University of Aberdeen and an MA in accountancy and qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.

Martin Gilbert

Nikolay Storonsky launched Revolut in 2015 to transform the way we spend and transfer money abroad. Since then, he has put Revolut on the path to becoming the world’s first truly global bank, changing the way we do all things money. Previously an Emerging Markets Equity Derivatives Trader at Credit Suisse and Lehman Brothers, he traded over $2bn across various options, swaps, and FX instruments. Nikolay holds an M.S. in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and an MA in Economics from the New Economic School, Moscow. He is a keen kite surfer, mountaineer, and championship swimmer.

Nik Storonsky

Vlad has been Revolut’s Chief Technology Officer since he co-founded the company with Nik Storonsky. His software engineering experience spans several industries, including travel and finance, creating real-time billing systems and booking engines. After building financial software systems at tier one investment banks such as UBS and Deutsche Bank, he realised that to deliver a next generation digital banking service he would need to build it himself. He holds a M.S. in Computer Science.

Vlad Yatsenko

Michael is a non-executive director at Revolut and senior director of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. He retired in 2016 as Vice Chairman and co-Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs International. He was also chair of the Growth Markets Executive Group, co-chair of the European Management Committee and Chair of the Partnership Committee. Michael first joined Goldman Sachs in 1986 and became a partner in 1994. Michael is a member of the Westminster Abbey Campaign Development Board, a sponsor of the Harefield Academy, chairman of Greenhouse Sports, a trustee of Grenada Schools, and former trustee of the Mayor’s Fund for London and the Serpentine Galleries.

Michael Sherwood

Caroline Britton chairs Revolut’s Audit Committee. She has 18 years’ experience as an Audit Partner at Deloitte and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Caroline also serves as a non-executive Director and Audit Committee chair at both MoneySupermarket Group and Sirius Real Estate Limited. Since 2012, she has served on the Audit Committee of the Make a Wish Foundation International. Caroline holds an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Caroline Britton

John Sievwright joined the Revolut Board in July 2021. He had a 20 year career with Merrill Lynch holding  global leadership positions, latterly Chief Operating Officer - International.  He earlier worked in finance and accounting roles at Bankers Trust and Bank of Tokyo International, having begun his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. While at Merrill Lynch he was President of the Futures Industry Association. Mr Sievwright has been a Director of Burford Capital since May 2020 and serves on its Audit and Compensation Committees. He is a former senior independent director (SID) and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee at ICAP plc (later NEX Group) and former SID and Chairman of the Audit Committee of FirstGroup plc. He has an MA in Accountancy and Economics from the University of Aberdeen.

John Sievwright

A trained and qualified banker, Ian spent much of his career with Royal Bank of Scotland latterly as Director of Credit, Retail Banking. Subsequent executive roles include Managing Director Business Banking at Santander UK, Chief Risk Officer at GE Money UK, Chief Risk Officer at Tesco Bank, and Strategic Risk Director at Virgin Money. More recently, Ian has acted as executive Chief Risk Officer for both Charter Court Financial Services and Monzo, in each case helping the business obtain a banking licence and establish a robust risk management framework. Ian is a Chartered Banker and a Fellow and former Vice President of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services.

Ian Wilson

Executive Leadership

Mikko Salovaara joined Revolut in January 2021 as VP Finance and became Group CFO in April 2021. Mikko spent five years with 3G Capital, three of which were with its portfolio company, Kraft Heinz. He was CFO of Kraft Heinz China, Kraft Heinz APAC and Kraft Heinz US. At 3G Capital, he focused on public and private investments, mainly in the global consumer goods industry. Before joining Revolut he worked for Elliott Advisors (UK) Ltd, with a particular emphasis on public and private market strategies. Mikko has a BA in Economics and a BA / MA in East Asian Studies from Yale University.

Mikko Salovaara

Alan is Chief Revenue Officer at Revolut focusing on the company’s profitability goals. Since joining as Revolut’s fifth employee, he has held numerous key operational positions at the company. Alan has headed customer service, created the Metal and Premium accounts, and oversaw international expansion into the US, Singapore, and Australia as VP Operations. During this time, he also grew the Operations function to more than 100 people, and turned the Payments business into a profitable operation. Alan holds a Physics degree from Imperial College London.

Alan Chang

Peter is Head of Internal Audit and joined in July 2019. He is responsible for leading the Global Internal Audit department in delivering assurance and insight on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and the strength of the control environment. His background spans internal and external audit, most recently as Head of Internal Audit – Data Mining and Analytics at Capita. Previously, Peter spent 23 years with Ernst & Young as a financial auditor in various roles including Director of Audit Transformation, responsible for innovating the use of technology and data in audit. Peter has an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and is an ACA Chartered Accountant.

Peter Collins

Pierre Decote is Group Chief Risk Officer at Revolut and joined in November 2019. He is responsible for overseeing the risk profile of the group and has direct responsibility for all second line activities including all Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, Risk management (market, liquidity, capital, credit, operational, business), Assurance and testing, Model validation, Governance, Policies and control framework. His previous roles include Chief Risk Officer at Prodigy, Chief Credit Officer at Barclaycard, Chief Analytics Officer at Tandem Bank, Managing Director of performance marketing at Capital One. Pierre holds a Masters in Business Administration and Finance from ESC Bordeaux, France.

Pierre Decote

Deirdre Halligan is Revolut’s Head of Global Affairs and Wealth & Trading. She joined Revolut in June 2020. She was previously Chief Operating Officer at Coinbase Ireland and before that COO for xSellco where she was responsible for managing global organisational growth. She is an expert in FinTech and her core specialties include: FinTech, Blockchain, eCommerce and SaaS technology. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Limerick.

Deirdre Halligan

Sid Jajodia joined Revolut as Chief Banking Officer in July 2021. He was previously CEO Credit for three years at PayU. He has deep experience in global banking including four and a half years at Lending Club, first as vice president risk management and later as chief investment officer. He spent 12 years at Capital One in various roles, most recently, SVP and head of SME lending.

Sid Jajodia

Tom is the group's General Counsel and Company Secretary. He joined Revolut in 2017 and is responsible for defining and executing the group's global legal and regulatory strategy. This includes the structuring of investments, navigating complex regulatory environments in multiple markets, working with domestic and international policymakers to facilitate innovation in financial services and establishing an award winning global legal operations function. Before joining Revolut, Tom was at Herbert Smith Freehills, where he advised clients on a wide range of corporate and securities law matters. Tom received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Macquarie University, Australia.

Tom Hambrett

Michal is the group's Chief Operations Officer. He joined Revolut from Amazon after spending nearly 5 years building out the transportation and delivery operations in EU. His contributions include creating and leading MEU Regional Operations, as well as developing the Central Programs and EU Network Operations teams. Before Amazon, Michal was an Associate Partner at McKinsey’s Warsaw office. Michal holds MBA from Kellogg School of Management and MSc from Politecnico di Milano.

Michal Laube

Harry Gill is the Group Chief Compliance Officer at Revolut. He joined in June 2020 and is overseeing the global regulatory and financial crime compliance risk management programme. Harry has 20+ years of risk management experience and has previously held positions at Bank of New York Mellon, Barclays Bank and Credit Suisse. Harry has lived and worked in London, New York, Johannesburg and Singapore. He holds a BSc Economics from the London School of Economics and JD from New York Law School.
