About the role

Our Risk team sits at the very core of Revolut. Those special agents work across functions, products, and regions to monitor front-line performance and ensure that the business is on safe footing. People in the Risk team are among the first in the company to get involved in new business initiatives, from App Technology, through Treasury and Finance, to Customer Support.

We're looking for a Head of Risk to join our team in Mexico. Working closely with all areas on risk-based activities, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the risk management department in Mexico, raising awareness of relevant rules and regulations within Banking & Payment services, and ensuring Revolut remains compliant with all internal and third-party policies, applicable legislation, regulatory rules, and risk management best practices.

What you’ll be doing

• Working with the first line of defense to identify potential risks and implement adequate mitigation
• Developing and implementing risk policies and procedures
• Developing Key Risk Indicators (KRI)
• Developing a risk appetite framework
• Designing and implementing risk management processes that are efficient and effective (minimal bureaucracy, maximum impact)
• Monitoring risks and triggering corrective actions and/or producing reports as appropriate
• Liaising with regulators
• Building and managing a team of specialists
• Implementing and maintaining the tools for this function
• Leading various projects to uplift the risk management capability for Revolut Mexico

What you'll need

• A proven track record in Risk Management or a related role, preferably from a consumer platform (Banks/Fintechs/Payments)
• Strong experience in managing credit risk, operational risk, and/or compliance in a regulated environment
• Knowledge of legislation and regulation relating to banking activities, FX, and card schemes
• Technical background with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Data analysis orientation
• Leadership and communication skills
• Stakeholder management abilities and to enjoy taking ownership

Nice to have

• Experience in process engineering / Lean + Six Sigma
• Proficiency in SQL
• A degree in business administration, engineering, economics, finance, or a related field
• An MBA, CFA, CAIA, or FRM professional certification
