To open a Revolut Business account, we need to confirm the details of the directors and shareholders of your company. This policy is in line with a banking regulation commonly known as 'Know Your Customer’ (KYC) and is the process of a business verifying the identity of its clients.
You will need to provide the details of the individuals/entities who directly and indirectly own shares of your business. In order to verify the owners we will need official proof confirming each layer of the ownership structure, such as a registry extract or properly signed ownership chart together with identity documents (properly signed meaning a chart signed and dated by an authorised person, at least two shareholders or a director who is not a shareholder).
In addition to verifying the identities of the shareholders, Revolut also needs to confirm the personal and contact details of all current directors within the business. Please kindly note that we are not able to accept shareholders who are considered minors (under 18 years old). Also notice that at least one director must have an address within the EEA or Switzerland.
Please note that this is a requirement and we're only verifying their identities as directors/ shareholders of the company. For you to give them access to the account, you still need to create a User profile for them when your application is accepted.
These are all basic business-related details and all documents accepted by us together with supporting explanations are listed in our application form during the sign-up process.
Shareholders will need to provide a high quality photo of a valid official ID. You can invite them to submit their ID check themselves or upload the documents on their behalf.
Please note that in some situations we may ask for additional documents.
