Let's get you set up

Read our simple guide to start taking payments with your Revolut Reader. It only takes a few minutes.

1. Power up your Reader

Turn your Reader on using the power button. If it doesn’t have enough battery, plug it in to a power source.

2. Create a new request in-app

  1. Open the Revolut Business mobile app
  2. Go to Merchant from the Home screen
  3. Tap New request
  4. Select Card reader

3. Connect your Reader

  1. Hit Connect Revolut Reader
  2. Accept permissions in the Revolut Business mobile app
  3. Type in the last 3 digits of your Reader's serial number
  4. Accept the pairing code on both the Reader and your mobile device

4. Set up your sale

Once connected, enter the amount you want to charge and a description of the item (if needed). Press Charge in-app, and your Reader will be ready to take a payment.

FAQs

  • If you encounter issues with your Reader, please refer to our more detailed Revolut Reader user guide — it covers loads of topics that should be able to help. You can also visit our Help Centre or go to the Help menu in-app. If you can't find a solution there, reach out to our support team through the in-app chat.
  • Revolut Reader supports chip and PIN and contactless Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro payments, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

  • All Revolut Business payments processed through the Reader will be settle into your Revolut Business Merchant account within 24 hours. You can transfer money over to your main account easily form there.

    For Pro customers, the first payment you accept will land in your account within 7 days. But the more you sell, the faster your sales will settle. Keep accepting card payments to unlock 24-hour settlement time. T&Cs apply.

  • You can send digital receipts in 2 ways:
    • Select Send receipt from the payment confirmation screen in-app. This should happen as soon as the transaction is complete.
    • Locate the relevant payment from the transaction list, select it, and choose Send receipt.
    Receipts also include a special offer for customers if they sign up to Revolut. If you're a Revolut Business customer — check out our merchant affiliate programme. With this programme, you can unlock some additional revenue when you promote Revolut further.
  • Yes, you can create a custom product catalogue (including prices) in your Business or Pro account. Choose directly from the catalogue in-app when you set up a sale with the Reader, or create a new item in a few taps.
  • Currently, Revolut Reader can integrate with our Point of Sale (POS) iPad app, which is available to Revolut Business customers. We have more integrations coming soon. Learn more about Revolut POS.
