Showing up and being seen: Pride guild reflections

There’s no one way to be out at work.

Some share openly. Others connect quietly. Many find their own rhythm over time. Each experience adds depth to the culture we’re building together at Revolut.

This Pride Month, employees across teams and time zones responded to a few thoughtful questions, offering perspectives on identity and what it means to be respected at work.

When Pride comes to mind, what’s the first fabulous thing you think of?

Dari, Customer Experience team: It’s visibility with joy. A reminder that there's power in being seen, and that embracing who we are creates space for others to do the same.

Looking back, what personal or professional milestone are you most proud of?

Shulin, Legal team: The launch of our Diversity Card. This was a challenging multi-year endeavour, navigating a sensitive local environment. It embodies Revolut's unique blend of innovation and social responsibility.

Dari: I'm proud of helping to shape inclusive experiences that reflect the diversity of our customers and co-workers. Knowing that my work directly supports under-represented voices, keeps me inspired every day.

In what ways have you grown personally or professionally as an LGBTQ+ person at Revolut?

Cat, Learning & Development team: Having my queerness being such an ordinary part of me allows me to do my job and focus on positively impacting everyone around me.

Diego, Financial Crime Investigations team: Without the fear of not belonging, I've been able to focus entirely on developing my interpersonal, soft, and hard skills. I don’t think I would've been able to develop them in an environment where I didn't felt safe.

Shulin: The safety of being myself has empowered me to tackle challenges head-on. My energy isn't diverted by concerns about fitting in, which allows me to fully channel it into solving complex problems and driving innovation.

What’s one lesson you’ve learned as an LGBTQ+ professional that others might find empowering?

Misky, Sales team: Being true to yourself is the foundation for your best work. When you stop hiding, your creativity and impact soar.

Brian, Recruitment team: Don’t shrink yourself to fit in if you were made to stand out.

Mia, Customer Support team: Navigating experiences of being overlooked or diminished cultivated empathy and strong soft skills, allowing me to excel in teamwork.

Shulin: As an LGBTQ+ professional, you learn early on the strength it takes to challenge prevailing norms by simply existing as yourself. This resilience and a natural inclination to question the status quo are precisely what allows us, and anyone, to push boundaries and drive meaningful change.

How has your identity shaped your leadership, creativity, or problem-solving at work?

Misky: My experiences have made me more open-minded. I approach challenges with an empathetic perspective, which I find leads to better, more human solutions.

Diego: Being queer has naturally equipped me with a heightened awareness of others' needs and emotions. My experiences have been a 'boot camp' in understanding the importance of being seen and the power of open communication, which I now bring to my leadership and approach to problem-solving.

What’s one word that describes your experience as an LGBTQ+ Revoluter, and why?

Diego: Acceptance. Revolut's commitment to equality means everyone is safe to be their true selves. This personal validation is incredibly motivating and translates directly into better professional performance.

Mia: Truthful. I no longer feel the need to hide any part of myself, and this transparency has brought a profound sense of being valued and seen — both for my LGBTQ+ identity and for the contributions I make professionally.

Our Pride guild members remind us that belonging isn’t a box to check, but something we contribute to every day, together.
