How can we help?

What is a preauthorisation?

When will my card be preauthorised?

For "Pay at property" bookings, where the property takes the payment, the property might preauthorise your card.

What is a preauthorisation?

When you make a "Pay at property" reservation, you will need to provide your card details to confirm it. There may be instances where the property will contact us to ensure that the card you're using is valid and hasn’t been reported lost or stolen. This is communicated in the form of a pre-authorisation transaction. This pre-authorisation transaction is just for validation purposes and no money will be taken from your account. Pre-authorisations are common but are often confused with actual charges. While in-store purchases are immediately charged and deducted from your available balance, pre-authorisations are temporary holds. The length of the hold will vary.

If you have further questions about preauthorisation please speak to our support team.
