Who is collecting your information?

Revolut Payments Australia Pty Ltd t/a Revolut Australia Bank (ACN 634 823 180) (“Revolut Australia Bank”, “we”, “our”)

What personal information are we collecting as part of onboarding?

We will collect copies of your government issued identity document, photographs (i.e. selfies) and/or videos of your face, facial scan data (biometric templates) extracted from your ID and your photo/video, and a recording of your voice.

Why are we collecting and holding this information?

We use and process this information to verify your identity during onboarding as part of our legally required Know Your Customer (“KYC”) checks, to confirm that:

  • you are a real, live person; and
  • to authenticate you as the authorised user of our services.

We also collect and retain this information:

  • to provide you with services across the Revolut group and maintain a single, consistent identity for you across the services we may provide to you globally; and
  • detect and prevent fraud on an ongoing basis.

How do we process and share your information?

We will compare facial scan data extracted from your ID document against the facial scan data extracted from the video or selfie.

We may also use your voice data to prevent fraud by confirming that you are a real, live person.

We may share this information with trusted third-party identity verification and e-KYC service providers to assist us in this process. Your information may be processed securely on servers located overseas (as detailed in our Privacy Policy).

What happens if you do not provide this information?

If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to verify your identity electronically, which means we cannot open a Revolut account for you or provide you with Revolut services.

What privacy rights do you have?

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, though this will impact your ability to continue to use Revolut's services.

For more information on how to access or correct your personal information, or how to make a complaint about a suspected breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, please read our Privacy Policy.
